In short: I'm a bloody good writer

The longer version: I'm a culture writer, editor and occasional copywriter based in East London.

For the past year, I’ve been a staff writer and editorial lead at Hunger magazine. During this time I led our online output, writing and editing everything from features to interviews to PR-driven pieces. Yes, I have a hefty list of PR contacts.

I also worked on both Issue 30 and Issue 31 of Hunger’s print magazine. Issue 31 in particular saw me interview Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Justice Smith, Stephen Graham and Tom Hollander, all of whom were cover stories.

As a freelance writer I've contributed articles to Dazed, i-D, Vice, Little White Lies, Polyester Zine and Canvas8. My “thing” used to be film, but I’ve since become a bit of a jack of all trades. Throw something my way and it’s likely I can write a pithy little piece about it. I now consider my niche to be internet culture, but I’m also a dab hand at writing about music, fashion and society at large. Basically, try me.

I have a master’s in Film Studies from UCL. I have an undergraduate degree in the Film Studies too, but that’s just not as impressive, is it? Any Tom, Dick or Harry can get an undergraduate degree these days, and there’s about a 60% chance it will be in Psychology. I got a distinction in my masters, by the way.

Last but not least (although it kind of is), I moonlight as a creative copywriter. I’ve written copy for websites as well as social media and email marketing campaigns for VisionAI, Staycation, Reelstore and Endless Wardrobe.

I also have a Substack where I complain about things in what I hope is a funny way. I implore you to subscribe because it’s likely you’ll do a little exhale of breath at least once while reading it. Maybe twice.

I’m very much open for work. Gagging for it, actually. To get in contact about exciting opportunities, head on over to my contact page.
